An Overview of Learning at Ivy Green
At Ivy Green, learning is intentional, engaging, and designed to grow with each child. From a child’s earliest classroom experiences through preparation for kindergarten, we build strong academic, social-emotional, and developmental foundations while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and independence.
Our program is grounded in the Tools of the Mind curriculum, a research-based approach that supports intentional learning, self-regulation, executive function, and cognitive development. Children learn through thoughtfully guided experiences that encourage them to explore, ask questions, solve problems, collaborate, and make meaningful connections.
Early STEM and STEAM experiences are woven throughout the curriculum, along with daily opportunities for creativity and discovery. English is our primary language of instruction, complemented by Spanish and French, introducing children to world languages as a natural part of their school experience.
Our goal is to give every child more than preparation for the next classroom. We want them to develop the confidence to try, the curiosity to question, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning that continues well beyond Ivy Green.

Lower School
Kindergarten–Grade 2
Planned for 2027
Ivy Green’s Lower School will extend our educational approach into the elementary years through an integrated curriculum designed to build strong academic skills while nurturing curiosity, creativity, independence, and confidence.
Students will develop strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, STEM, the arts, and world languages. Learning will connect across subject areas through inquiry, discussion, hands-on investigation, problem-solving, and project-based experiences.
Our goal is to develop capable learners who communicate clearly, think critically, work independently and collaboratively, and approach increasingly complex ideas with confidence.
By the end of their time at Ivy Green, students will be equipped with the academic foundation, learning habits, independence, and confidence to thrive in challenging academic environments and transition successfully into the next stage of their education.
The Ivy Green Preschool Difference
At Ivy Green, nurturing care and purposeful teaching begin with knowing each child. Our educators build on children’s interests and abilities, helping them feel secure, become more independent, and discover what they can do.
As children grow, science, the arts, and world languages invite them to ask questions, explore ideas, and express themselves. In our preschool classrooms, the Tools of the Mind curriculum supports the attention, self-control, and collaboration children need for learning and everyday life.
